As the summer Durham school holiday fades into the rear view mirror, thoughts turn to the autumn half term holiday to plan the next break. Here are the dates for the 2019 school holidays and term dates in our region.

It doesn't seem five minutes ago since the summer holidays had begun. We've had some rather mixed weather, and a scorching bank holiday, but like all good things it comes to an end.

When does the summer Durham school holiday end?

If you've been enjoying all the Durham events and activities available across the county, unfortunately it comes to an end at the start of September.

The last day of the summer Durham school holidays is Monday September 2, so Durham schools reopen after the summer holiday on Tuesday September 3 2019 (the final Monday after the school summer holiday is often a teacher training day, and so the first day of the Durham school autumn term is the Tuesday).

When are the Durham school holiday dates for the autumn term?

Make it to the Durham school summer holidays, and you've then got a few weeks to wait in the Durham school autumn term before you make it to the next Durham school holidays. The Durham schools autumn half term holiday starts when school closes on Friday October 25 2019, and then the Durham schools reopen on Monday November 4.

Durham schools then break up for Christmas on Friday December 20 and reopen on Monday January 4 2020.
