The Wharton Park Durham Brass Festival concerts have been taking place for the last few years and attract a crowd of all ages, including lots of families.

The brass festival starts on Friday July 12. With a chance to not only listen to some fantastic bands but also have a bit of a dance, the Durham Brass Festival Wharton Park concerts are worth checking out.

Durham Brass Festival Wharton Park event #1: Summer Brass Series

There is a series of free Sunday afternoon Brass in the Park concerts, by some of the county's finest brass bands, performed in the Wharton Park amphitheatre. They take place on Sundays from 1-3pm until August 25. The Summer Brass Series is free and no booking is required.

Durham Brass Festival Wharton Park event #2: Big BRASS Party

The Wharton Park Big BRASS Party is on Saturday July 20. Take a picnic to the big brass party which brings together the street bands for a big concert. It's from 6-9pm at Wharton Park and is free.

Durham Brass Festival Wharton Park event #3: Wharton Park meets the West End

Wharton Park meets the West End is a music concert for anyone who loves hits from the musicals. On Sunday July 21, the Scottish Swing Orchestra and the Festival Broadway Chorus play brass arrangements of musical theatre hits.

Wharton Park meets the West End is from 6-8pm at Wharton Park, and is free. The Wharton Park cafe will remain open throughout the event.
