When is Bishop Auckland Food Festival 2019?
Bishop Auckland Food Festival dates are Saturday and Sunday April 13 and 14 2019 - in the middle of the Durham school Easter holidays. It just takes place over the weekend, so tickets for the most popular events are bound to go quickly. 2019 isn't the first year it has been running, and so you can expect an established programme of events. Last year Bishop Auckland Food Festival attracted 27,000 visitors.

What's happening at Bishop Auckland Food Festival 2019?
There are the things you'd expect at a food festival such as food stalls (there'll be 150 of them!) and artisan local food producers, cookery workshops, cookery book signings, children's baking workshops and live cookery demonstrations, but there will also be live music as well as a Gingo - a mixture of gin and bingo, which sounds amazing. There is also Beer and Bites, which is a beer and food tasting session.
The main attraction will probably be the celebrity chefs.

Who are the Bishop Auckland Food Festival celebrity chefs for 2019?
The Bishop Auckland Food Festival celebrity chef lineup includes Masterchef's Greg Wallace, TV and radio presenter Angellica Bell (who also won Celebrity Masterchef in 2017), Coronation Street's Jennie Mcalpine who owns Annie's restaurant in Manchester, Kenny Tutt who won Masterchef in 2018, and TV presenter and author Stefan Gates who does live shows about food and science.

How much do Bishop Auckland Food Festival tickets cost?
You can walk around the Bishop Auckland Food Festival stalls for free, but the celebrity chef show tickets are already on sale. Ticket prices range from about £10 for Jennie Mcalpine tickets which includes a meet and greet down to £3 for Stefan Gates. The Beer and Bites and Gingo tickets are a little more, at £12. However, if you miss out on Bishop Auckland Food Festival celebrity chef tickets, then don't worry, because in among the 150 stalls will be a free Marketplace stage where you can watch cookery demonstrations and shows without having to book. There will be some big names there too, including Great British Bakeoff semifinalist Briony May Williams.

How do I get to Bishop Auckland Food Festival and is there parking?
Organisers are advising visitors to use public transport; and with road closures around the Bishop Auckland Food Festival site it sounds best to avoid bringing your car into the town.
There's Bishop Auckland Food Festival park and ride running from Bishop Auckland College, which sounds like a good option, or buses stop at Bishop Auckland bus station behind the Newgate Centre, which is only a few minutes walk away from the festival. You can also get the train to Bishop Auckland railway station - change at Darlington.
