The free Bishop Auckland Food Festival marketplace stage will bring entertainment for every festival goer, without needing a ticket. Here's the timetable of what's happening there.

The Bishop Auckland Food Festival 2019 takes place over two days in April - Saturday and Sunday April 13 and 14 2019 in the centre of the town. With food stalls, workshops, celebrity talks, book signings and cookery demonstrations, it's bound to have something for everyone. After all, who doesn't like good food? Amid the 150 food stalls set out in Bishop Auckland marketplace, the stage will offer a series of talks and demonstrations that won't require you to buy a ticket. Simply turn up and get involved.

There are three presenters on the Bishop Auckland Food Festival marketplace stage each day. Each of them will be taking the stage twice, so there will six events in total on both Saturday and Sunday.

Crabstock consists of Adrian and Andy, who will take to the stage to share simple seafood dishes made with British shellfish. With years of experience as fishermen and a passion for seafood, Crabstock will be highlighting local shellfish and tasty recipes.

Savour is a drink and travel magazine and its show will include live cookery demonstrations from four of the North East’s top chefs, one of whom is head chef Gareth Rayner of FORGE – the new restaurant on the Middleton Lodge Estate, North Yorkshire – who will be talking about his seasonal tasting menu and giving his top tips.

Briony May reached the semi-finals of Channel 4's Great British Bake Off last year. She will be showcasing her favourite recipes during her two shows.

Kenny Tutt won Masterchef and has been in demand at cookery shows across the UK since winning. As well as appearing on the free Bishop Auckland Food Festival marketplace stage, he will also be delivering a cookery theatre show inside Bishop Auckland Town Hall, which is one of the paid-for ticketed events.
