But if you're visiting, you won't want to try driving into the centre of Bishop Auckland, particularly as there are road closures. The Bishop Auckland Food Festival park and ride provides an easy way to visit without the hassle of finding parking spots.

The Bishop Auckland Food Festival park and ride service operates from Bishop Auckland College Main Campus, which is situated on Woodhouse Lane, postcode DL14 6JZ.

The bus will run every 10 minutes.

Bishop Auckland Food Festival park and ride return journeys start from Newgate Street, which is the main shopping street that runs through the centre of the town.

The first bus on both days of the festival set off at 9.45am. On Saturday April 13 the last bus departs for the festival at 5.15pm, and the last bus leaves the festival to go back to the park and ride at 5.30pm.

On Sunday April 14 the last buses are an hour earlier; so the last bus going to the festival is at 4.15pm, and the last bus to leave the festival and return to the park and ride at Bishop Auckland College Main Campus is at 4.30pm.

Tickets cost £2 return for adults, and 50p for children aged six to 15 years old. Children five and under go for free.
