Durham tip opening times change depending on what time of year it is. Here are the weekday and weekend opening and closing times for winter 2019.
The council tip opening times in County Durham have now moved over to the winter schedule. The tips - otherwise known as Household Waste Recycling Centres - will continue on the winter opening times until the end of March 2020.
Winter tip opening times in Durham
The following council tips will be opening from Monday to Sunday, 9am to 3.30pm:
Annfield Plain tip
Heighington Lane tip, Newton Aycliffe
Potterhouse Lane tip, Pity Me
Romanway tip, Bishop Auckland
Seaham tip
Stainton Grove tip, Barnard Castle
Tudhoe tip

The following Household Waste Recycling Centres will be open on Monday to Thursday 10am to 4pm, and Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays from 9am to 3.30pm:
Coxhoe tip
Horden tip
Thornley tip
Meanwhile Hett Hills tip in Chester-le-Street will be open on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays from 9am to 3.30pm.
Finally, the Frosterley tip mobile site is open alternate Saturdays only from 9am to 12 noon. Dates for 2019 are October 20; November 3 and 17; and December 1, 15 and 29.
