Managing director of Durham Markets Colin Wilkes said: "We're already getting in the Halloween mood with many stalls decorated, and stallholders planning their spooky costumes. We're pleased to be able to offer varied entertainment for families each day during half term giving them great reasons to come into Durham.

"And for the grown ups, we've our first ever Ghost talk on Halloween in a nearly deserted Market Hall. Come as you are, or in costume, but be prepared to be spooked!

"We certainly hope that Durham Markets can add a little extra to your Halloween fun this year."
