The Bowes Museum Christmas grotto starts with a toy workshop where children can join the elves to make Christmas craft items to take home. They'll then go through to Santa's grotto, where all children will be given a Christmas gift.

Santa's Bowes Museum grotto tickets cost £12 per child, with no charge for accompanying adults. The Bowes grotto ticket price includes a gift and entry to the Bowes Museum.  Children who are booked to see Santa between December 13-15 will be admitted free of charge to the Christmas Market.

The Bowes Museum grotto is open from Sunday December 1 to Sunday December 22. The opening times are 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2-4.30pm at weekends; 3.30-5.30pm on Decemer 9-11 and 16-18; 3.30-6pm on December 19; and from 3.30-6.30pm on December 20.

The grotto on December 22 will be a more relaxed meet and greet type of session, where children can approach Father Christmas when they want to.
