See the Cricket World Cup trophy in Durham when it tours venues across the county
The Cricket World Cup trophy will be on display in venues across County Durham. Here's where you can get up close and personal with cricket's most famous piece of metal.
The Cricket World Cup 2019 is taking place in England and Wales from May 30 until July 14 - the first time Britain has hosted the Cricket World Cup since 1999 - and Durham's Riverside Stadium in Chester le Street will play a part, hosting three of the matches.
Ahead of the tournament, you can see the Cricket World Cup trophy in Durham venues when it comes to the county as part of a nationwide tour, which also takes in the other host towns and cities of London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham, Leeds, Southampton, Cardiff and Taunton.

When is the Cricket World Cup trophy in Durham?
It's heading our way from Saturday to Monday, April 6-8.
Where will the Cricket World Cup trophy be going?
The trophy has got a little schedule it'll be sticking to. First off is Raby Castle on Saturday; then over to Durham Cathedral, Marketplace and rowing club on Sunday, and then finally to the Riverside Stadium via Beamish Museum on Monday. There'll be activities planned around each visit.

Cricket World Cup trophy Durham venue #1: Raby Castle
Raby Castle is hosting a whole afternoon of free cricket-based entertainment with events including a match involving Sir Ian Botham and the new 100-ball format, cricket activities and a chance for pictures with the trophy. Cricket World Cup trophy Durham venue #2: Durham Marketplace
On Sunday April 7 Durham University rowing club will be rowing the Cricket World Cup trophy down the River Wear. They'll greet the trophy at 10am at the Racecourse landing stage. It'll make its way to Durham Cathedral and then between 11am and 1pm the trophy will be available for pictures in Durham Marketplace.
Cricket World Cup trophy Durham venue #3: Beamish Museum
Beamish Museum will host the Cricket World Cup trophy on Monday April 8. From 9.30am the trophy will be available for pictures, and there'll be a programme of cricket activities too. You can also find out about the history of cricket. The trophy leaves Beamish Museum at 12 noon although the activities will continue.

Cricket World Cup trophy Durham venue #4: Riverside Cricket Ground
Continuing on Monday, when the Cricket World Cup trophy leaves Beamish Museum, it will head for an afternoon of family cricket fun at Durham Cricket's Emirates Riverside ground. From 1.30pm, you can enjoy an afternoon of games and entertainment. There'll be club-based skills competitions, with the event scheduled to finish at 4.30pm.
