Fire and Ice Durham Festival is not to be missed. Bringing together the two elements through sculpture and performance, Fire and Ice takes visitors on a tour around Durham - and best of all Fire and Ice Durham is free. Each year the Fire and Ice festival features a series of ice sculptures and artworks based on a theme and placed around Durham city. The ice sculptures are lit by flaming beacons and there is also usually a fire show. Fire and Ice activities include ice sculpture demonstrations.
