A two-day fully-funded workshop to help bring new ideas to market will be open to County Durham-based SMEs when it takes place next month.

Teesside University's 'Developing and Marketing your Innovation' workshop aims to help County Durham-based small to medium enterprises to turn innovative products and ideas into a viable business.

The course, which takes place in Darlington on the two consecutive Thursdays of June 13 and June 20 2019, will be delivered by Omar Al Janabi, Business Innovation Manager at Teesside University.

Day one looks at ways to develop an initial business idea using a Business Model Canvas - which helps to evolve new business concepts by putting ideas such as values, finances and potential customers into a chart.

Day two, which will be led by business development specialist Pascal Fintoni, will be about how to develop a marketing and PR strategy for a new business. The course will also explain how to use a sales funnel to move inquiries through to sales, how to spend a marketing budget effectively, gaining loyal customers, using digital as well as how to create the right blogging content, and exploring social media tactics. At the end, everyone will have created a three month sales and marketing plan using all the information learned on the course.

The fully-funded workshop is open to any Durham-based small to medium enterprises that have a new business or product idea for a business audience.

The course will be delivered at the Teesside University Centre for Professional and Executive Development on Vicarage Road, Darlington.
