Tanfield Railway's Easter events are well worth considering when you're planning how to spend your two week break - here's what's on at the railway heritage venue.

As well as the usual three-mile rail trips you can enjoy on Tanfield's heritage locomotives, there are also some Tanfield Railway Easter events specifically put on for the Durham Easter holidays.

Durham schools Easter term ends on Friday April 5 2019. You've then got a glorious two weeks to enjoy all the Durham events and activities available across the county.

The last day of the Easter Durham school holidays is Monday April 22, so Durham schools reopen after Easter on Tuesday April 23 2019.

There are three Tanfield Railway Easter events during the holidays - one at the start, one in the middle weekend and one at the end. The first is the Tanfield Railway Easter Eggstravaganza, which takes place twice during the Durham Easter holidays.
