These family activities are happening in Durham this weekend, from Friday to Sunday September 27-29 2019. Which will you pick?

With lots of places across County Durham offering child-friendly activities, there are always plenty of Durham family event across the county. Here are the best from September 27-29 2019.

#1: Bishop Celebrating Together, Bishop Auckland

Following on from the success of the first Bishop Celebrating Together, the event is back in Bishop Auckland on the weekend of September 27-28.

Organised by the Bishop Auckland Town Team, it starts on Friday September 27 with the Full Moon streetfood market 4-9pm, with music from Ashley Sterling from 6-8.30pm. On the Saturday there will be performers on the main stage from 10am, and there will be a play area with toys and games, plus free face painting.

#2: IncludFEST 2019, Hardwick Park Sedgefield

IncludFEST is a free, fully inclusive and accessible arts festival for children, young people and families to enjoy a range of arts activities. Activities include live music, live outdoor street theatre, participatory workshops, story telling and arts and crafts.

#3: Durham Lumiere 2019 art workshops

The Bottle Festoon workshops are a chance to get your artwork displayed at the Durham Lumiere festival. Taking place in locations across County Durham, the workshops involve creating art out of old plastic.

#4: Discovery Club, Bowlees Visitor Centre

Bowlees Visitor Centre in Teesdale is holding a discovery club, looking at funky flowers and buzzing bees. Suitable for children aged four to 11, the monthly club takes place on the last Saturday of the month. Annual membership is £5 or £1 per session. Booking advised. #5: Friendly Foxes, Palace Green Library

Friendly Foxes at Palace Green Library is on Saturday and Sunday September 28-29, from 1-3pm. In the exhibition, you will find a beautiful red fox. Foxes live in many places from the countryside to the city. Can you make a fuzzy friend? Call 0191 334 2932 for more information.
