Seaham Food Festival will feature celebrity chefs John Torode and Phil Vickery as its headline stars for the 2019 event.

Following in the footsteps of the ever-popular Bishop Auckland Food Festival, Seaham Food Festival will play host to food stalls, workshops, celebrity chefs and live music as part of a new event for 2019. And the headline Seaham Food Festival celebrity chefs will be John Torode and Phil Vickery.

John Torode is most famous as the co-presenter of BBC MasterChef, while Phil Vickery appears regularly on shows such as This Morning and Ready Steady Cook.

Phil Vickery said: "They certainly know their food up here and I am delighted to be given the chance to share some recipes and inspiration."

Seaham Food Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday June 8 and 9 2019, running from 10am to 5pm on the Saturday and 10am to 4pm on the Sunday. It just takes place over the weekend, so tickets for the most popular events are bound to go quickly.

However, it's free to watch the celebrity chef cookery demonstrations: John Torode will be on at 11.30am and 2.30pm on Saturday, and Phil Vickery at 11.30am and 1.30pm on Sunday.

Aside from Phil Vickery and John Torode, other chefs and groups heading to Seaham Food Festival include Rachel Green, an award-winning chef, local food campaigner, author and television presenter who will be performing at 12.30pm and 3.30pm on Saturday, and seafood specialists The Crabstock Boys, who will be on at 10.30am and 1.30pm on Saturday, and 10.30am, 12.30pm and 3.30pm on Sunday.

JC, the top chef from Seaham Hall, will be holding a cookery demonstration at 2.30pm on Sunday.

There will also be live music and children's activities, including healthy baking workshops with Little Dots Dishes.

Workshops are ticketed, and advanced booking is recommended. The Seaham Food Festival ticket prices haven't yet been announced because they've not yet gone on sale, but we'll let you know when they are.
